10 Natural Ways To Treat Toenail Fungus

There are several ways to treat toenail fungus. Home remedies, especially using natural ingredients which are tried and tested over ages are the best way to ensure healthy and shiny nails. Here are a few natural ways to treat toenail fungus.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar has been used since ages in many countries to treat stubborn toenail fungus effectively with immediate effect. Apple cider Vinegar can be used both topically as well as consumed daily for proper treatment. Two to three table spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar can be mixed with a table spoon of honey and added to about 8oz of luke warm water and consumed daily for a fungus free body. To apply topically, Apple Cider Vinegar can be either applied raw on the infected toenail with a cotton swab or one could take a foot bath in Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in Warm water for about 15 to 20 minutes, twice daily. Coconut Oil

Caprylic acid in coconut oil is a very potent antifungal and has the ability to penetrate deep in to the cell to kill stubborn fungus like even Candida. Caprylic acid breaks the outer durable layer of the fungus. Once broken, the cell dissolves with exposure to Caprylic acid. Apply a few drops of coconut oil in the infected toenail, tape it and leave it overnight for best results. It is suggested to use a paste of baking powder and water to prevent further fungal growth. Apply a few drops of tea tree oil directly on the toenail and leave it for 20 minutes for the skin to soak the oil. You can use a soft bristle brush to softly brush off the residue using one direction to brush off. Repeat till you get healthy nail devoid of fungus. Ideally 2 to 3 weeks of diligent use should keep the toenails free from fungus.

Orange Oil

Orange oil if applied directly on skin, can cause irritation or redness due to sensitive skin. Thus always add equal proportion of orange oil to any carrier oil and apply it in the affected toenail fungus with a dropper. Baking Soda with Borax 

This is a power packed combination to treat and heal toenails infected with fungal infections.
